Why Should You Grow to Your Fullest?
Three reasons to have a fullest life - Grow to Your Fullest (3)
I have come that they may have life and have it to the full -John 10:10
Each year, when spring comes after a long, cold, and boring winter, the grass turns green, and plants are coming alive with glorious blossoms. The Maker commands his angels, the warm sunshine and the mild breeze, come to the sleeping earth and expel the winter cold. Night after night, the angels whisper gently to all the lives sleeping under the earth. “Wake up, wake up! It’s time to get up and show your beauty to the world!” In response to the calling, one plant follows another, soon the whole earth wakes up and it’s crowned with color and beauty. The birds are attracted by the floating fragrance from flowers. They fly back with joyful twitters.
The earth wakes up when listening to the call from spring. About 2000 years ago, God came to the world and called us in passion, “I have come that they (you) may have life and have it to the full” (John 10: 10)
Even plants start their journey to their fullness by responding to the calling from spring. We should start our life journey to our fullest by responding to God’s calling. So the first reason for you to grow to your fullest is
** You are called to grow to your fullest **
And the calling from our Maker is as gentle and powerful as the calling from a spring. Not only has the Maker called us but also He has shown us the way. He said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
The fullest life is in and from God, our Father in heaven and Jesus is the way. To achieve your fullest in life, you have to follow Jesus. He is the leader, the author and the initiator of life, and the perfecter. He defines the size of life’s fullness. He called us to fulfill life’s mission by using the talents He has stored in us. We have to respond to His calling to realize our fullness.
No matter how others see you, you are wonderfully made by God. King David said, “I will praise You because I have been fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalms 139:14)
In the post, what is a fullest life, we talked three qualities of a fullest life, it
1) lives out its purpose in the full extent designed by God
2) is not limited by time and space and it multiplies and lasts forever
3) lives in the full harmony of truth, kindness and beauty
The three qualities set you in heaven while you are on earth, the second reason to grow to your fullest is
** You can enjoy a life in heaven on the earth **
No matter what chaos you face, you can be far beyond where you are, who you are and what you own. Physically you are in the world and face all kinds of problems that can grab your peace away so you have thousands of reasons to whine and give up. However, when you lift your eyes on God and set your mind in heaven, where there is no sin, neither death, you can enjoy unlimited richness – genuine love, fulfilled hope and overflowing joy, and you have the full harmony of all relationships that are built on truth, kindness and beauty. Nothing on earth can take away your inner peace as you have something bigger, stronger, richer and brighter inside than anything in the world. Nothing from the world can stop you shine.
Suzan is a jovial lady – she lights up everywhere she goes with her shining smile. She can be easily grateful and praise God for everything. When people meet her, they are warmly welcomed and loved by her. However her life is not easy instead it has been very hard. She lost her husband in a tragic; her son was murdered so she raised her grandchildren alone. And she suffered severe illness. She has been in the pit of despair. And then, Jesus lifted her out. Now she lives in heaven while on earth.
Paul wrote, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:3-39)
In the second post, we discussed four positive signs people who live out their fullest selves, they
1) have pleasing characters
2) are passionate about living out each day with purpose and meaning
3) are attractive and they are bright and rich inside and they bring light to the world and enrich the world
4) multiply and bear fruits by passing their wisdom and life lessons to others and help others reach to their fullest.
This is the third reason for you to grow to your fullest.
** You expand the kingdom of heaven in you on earth **
You have the treasure – the heaven in you. But you do not consume it instead you spread its pleasing aroma out on the world, you bring its light to the people in the darkness, you produce sweet fruits and share with others so you help more people live out their inner beauty and richness. More people believe in God and live in heaven on earth because of you. Not only do you gain the heaven but also you invest in the heaven.
One day, in a hospital ward, two serious Covid19 patients, an old lady and a young man, were waiting for ventilators that are in short. When finally, a ventilator was available, it’s hard to decide who should take it? Facing the choice between life and death, the lady said firmly, “I do not need it as I have lived a good life already. Please give it to him. He has a better life ahead.” The lady then left the world and the young man was healed. Later the man found out the lady was a loyal follower of Jesus and many believed in God because of her, so did the young man.
Last week, our area was hit by tornado. Many areas got severe damages - some lost powers for days, houses were flooded, trees fell and school buildings were destroyed. My flower plants in the yard fell and were broken.
In life, we constantly experience unexpected storms. If you live a fullest life, you can live beyond the life on earth and overcome any adversaries in life with a powerful God in you.
Why should you grow to your fullest? In summary, first, you are called to live a life to the full. You are wonderfully made and you are a sleeping giant in a seed planted by God. Pease wake up and respond to His calling, get ready to go on a journey to your fullest. When you live a life to your fullest, not only do you enjoy a life in heaven on earth but also you expand the heaven on earth by bringing others into it.
